Rules of the Library

  • Library will remain open on all working days from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM.
  • Before entering into the library, the gate register is to be signed legible.
  • Strict silence and discipline must be maintained inside the library.
  • Mobile phones must be switched off or in silent mode inside the library.
  • Books lost or damaged must be replaced.
  • The library card is not transferable and its loss must immediately be reported to the librarian. User will be held responsible for misuse of his/her library card.
  • Eatables and bags are not allowed inside the library.
  • Any change of address may please be intimated to the library in written.
  • Books borrowed must be returned within 15 days, failing which an overdue charge of Rs. 1/- per day will be levied on each member.
  • Books due on holiday may be retuned on the next working day. No fine will be levied on such cases.
  • A maximum of 15(Fifteen) books will be issued to a faculty member for a period of three months from the date of issue.
  • A maximum of 03 (three) books will be issued to Post Graduate students for a period of 15 days from the date of issue.
  • A maximum of 02 (two) books will be issued to a degree student for a period of fifteen days from the date of issue.
  • Question papers, reference books, rare books and periodicals will not be lent out to the members.
  • Newspapers and Magazines must be read only in the library on specific tables and should not be taken to any other reading areas.
  • In case of loss/damage/disfiguring/tearing of pages of Library books, student will be charged twice the prevailing cost of the book. So, ensure you are not receiving any such book else report it to the library staff
  • On discontinuity/retirement from services, ‘No Dues Certificate’ is to be obtained from the Central Library.
  • Please drop any suggestion, complaint in the readers suggestion box or contact the librarian.

Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library would be liable to lose the privilege of Library Membership. The Librarian, with the approval of the Hon’ble Principal cum Chairman, Library Committee reserves the right to add, delete, alter or modify any of the above rules as and when required.
